Getting Started: Tips for Making the Most of Your KUMA Device

Welcome to the KUMA family! Whether you've just unboxed your new KUMA CONNECT 4G or CONNECT 5G device, we're here to help you get started and make the most of your experience. This guide will walk you through the essentials, provide troubleshooting tips, and introduce you to resources that connect you easily.

Setting Up Your KUMA Device

Getting your KUMA device up and running is quick and simple. Follow these steps:

  1. Attach the WiFi Antennas – Connect the WiFi antennas to the designated ports on your KUMA device. CONNECT 5G WiFi antennas are already connected

  2. Insert Your SIM Card – Use the SIM card adapter (if needed) to insert the SIM card into the slot as per the Quick Start Guide.

  3. Power Up Your Device – Connect it to a power source using the 12V DC or 240V AC power supply.

  4. Power On - Press the power button until the LED indicators light up. (Please note that the lights are blue.)

  5. Check Network Light – The network/internet light should be flashing, indicating data transmission.

  6. Connect Your Devices - Search for your KUMA network on your phone, laptop, or tablet, and enter the WiFi password on your device.

Getting the Best Signal

If you purchased your CONNECT online, you have 30 days to try it risk-free. To optimise signal strength:

  • Choose the Right Data SIM – Select a provider with reliable coverage in your area.

  • Activate the SIM First – If activation is required, insert it into a mobile phone before placing it in your KUMA device.

  • Test Signal Strength – If using the PLAY or E-Zi antennas, move slowly around your space while running speed tests on Speedtest.net.

  • Find the Best Spot – Allow the antenna to sit for a minute before each test. Conduct at least 10 tests in different locations (bedroom, kitchen, etc.).

  • Be Patient – It may take up to 20 minutes, but positioning your device properly can significantly enhance connectivity.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Here’s how to resolve some common problems:

  • Cannot Connect to the Internet?

    • Quick Checks: Ensure the 4 x antennas are connected to the correct ports.

    • Make sure the SIM is inserted before powering on the device.

Required Lights:

  • Power

  • WiFi

  • 4G or 5G

  • NET (CONNECT 5G)/World symbol (CONNECT 4G) (should be flashing to indicate data transmission)
